UAE airline says flights to Tel Aviv operating as scheduled after missile attack

UAE carrier flydubai on Sunday said its flight to Tel Aviv are operating as scheduled following a missile attack by Yemen’s Houthis at Israel’s Ben Gurion airport.

A spokesperson of Dubai-based carrier flydubai said “flights to Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) are operating as scheduled."

Meanwhile, Air India announced the suspension of its flights to Israel following the attack. A flight from Delhi to Tel Aviv, Air India flight AI139, was after the missile strike, which struck near the airport.

Israeli officials said that the missile landed on a road near the Terminal 3 parking lot, causing a crater.

The plane, which was already en route, returned after entering Jordanian airspace for security reasons and safely landed in Abu Dhabi.

The airline said in a statement to Indian media that the flight “landed normally in Abu Dhabi and will soon return to Delhi.”

Air India has temporarily suspended its operations to Tel Aviv through May 6, 2025, due to "safety" concerns.

The airline issued a statement saying, “Consequent to developments in Tel Aviv this morning, our operations to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended with immediate effect till May 6, 2025, to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. Our colleagues on the ground are assisting customers and helping them with alternative arrangements,” the Tata-backed airline said.

It said customers booked with valid tickets between May 4 and 6 will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling or full refunds for cancellation.

“We would like to reiterate that at Air India, the safety of our customers and crew remains a top priority,” it said.
